What people took into the HR call

Short accounts tied to a specific consultation — negotiation briefs, contract reviews, offer comparisons, and career-move timing.

I arrived with an offer that felt final. We rebuilt the ask around base pay and a clearer bonus target, then rehearsed the call twice. HR moved on the base; the bonus language stayed softer than I hoped, which we had already planned for.

The Probezeit and Nebentätigkeit sections were the parts I would have signed past. Having plain-English notes and a short list of questions for HR made the second draft much easier to accept.
Jonas W. — Mechanical engineer relocating to Bavaria
Consultation: Employment Contract Preparation
Comparing two offers side by side stopped me from chasing the higher headline number. The lower base had a real 13th month and a car policy that mattered for my commute.
Elena R. — Finance manager, Frankfurt
Consultation: Offer Letter Analysis
The plan kept me from resigning on emotion after a rough quarter. We timed interviews around my notice period and practised the counter-offer conversation with my current employer — which I ultimately declined.

Extended note

Counter-offer after an internal move stalled

Sanne had been told an internal grade change was coming for months. When an external offer arrived, she needed a calm way to negotiate without burning the bridge at her current institute. We mapped her current Gesamtvergütung, set a walk-away line, and prepared two scripts — one for the external recruiter and one for her Betriebsleiter. She accepted the external role after a modest base increase and a clarified home-office clause.

Sessions were practical, not motivational. One mild frustration: gathering older payslips took longer than expected on my side, which delayed the brief by a few days. Once documents were in, the negotiation notes were specific enough to use almost word for word.
